Caitlin & Jake // Covenant

The best weddings are the ones that get you excited about your marriage all over again. Jacob and Caitlin’s wedding day in College Station was exactly that — it was truly a marriage celebration. It made me so thankful and excited about my own marriage. If you’ve been married for any length of time, you know that some days are amazing and some days are amazingly frustrating — that’s why we make such a big deal out of COMMITMENT, because a healthy and fulfilling marriage takes lots of work, faith, grace, forgiveness and perseverance. You ride the ups and downs because the safety and security of the covenant make some of life’s deepest joys possible. Timothy Keller said, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”

Here’s to a couple of newlyweds that inspired all of us to cherish marriage and love deeper.
